Garlic Butter Air Fryer Mushrooms
These Garlic Butter Air Fryer Mushrooms are incredibly easy to make, with juicy, tender mushrooms, crispy golden edges, plenty of garlic, and rich buttery flavor. They make a fantastic side dish for steak, chicken, burgers, pasta, or even a quick snack.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) button or cremini mushrooms
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese, optional
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, optional
Directions
1. Clean the Mushrooms
Gently wipe the mushrooms with a damp paper towel or rinse them briefly and dry them thoroughly.
Trim the ends of the stems.
If the mushrooms are large, cut them in half. Leave small mushrooms whole.
Make sure they’re well dried—excess water can prevent them from browning properly.
2. Prepare the Garlic Butter
In a small bowl, combine:
- Melted butter
- Olive oil
- Minced garlic
- Italian seasoning
- Paprika
- Salt
- Black pepper
Stir well.
3. Coat the Mushrooms
Place the mushrooms in a large bowl.
Pour the garlic-butter mixture over them.
Toss thoroughly until all the mushrooms are evenly coated.
4. Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for approximately 3 minutes, if your model recommends preheating.
5. Air Fry
Arrange the mushrooms in the air-fryer basket in as close to a single layer as possible.
Air fry at 380°F (193°C) for 8–12 minutes.
Shake the basket halfway through cooking.
If you want darker, crispier edges, cook for another 2–3 minutes.
6. Add Parmesan
Transfer the hot mushrooms to a serving bowl.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
Add a small squeeze of lemon juice for brightness if desired.
7. Serve Immediately
Serve the mushrooms while they’re hot and buttery.
The juices collected in the bottom of the bowl are delicious spooned over the mushrooms.
Tips for Perfect Air Fryer Mushrooms
Don’t overcrowd the basket: Too many mushrooms at once will steam rather than brown. Cook in batches if necessary.
Dry the mushrooms well: Moisture is the enemy of crispy edges.
Use cremini mushrooms: They have a deeper, more savory flavor than standard white mushrooms.
Shake halfway through: This helps the mushrooms brown more evenly.
Add fresh parsley at the end: It keeps the flavor fresh and bright.
