Egg & Baby Oil Remedy for Glowing Skin
An egg-and-baby-oil face mask is a popular homemade beauty remedy. It can temporarily make skin feel softer and smoother, mainly because the oil reduces moisture loss and the egg forms a temporary film on the skin. It doesn’t permanently lighten skin or change your natural skin tone.
Ingredients
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon baby oil
- 1 teaspoon plain yogurt — optional
How to Make It
- Separate the egg yolk into a clean bowl.
- Add the baby oil.
- Add yogurt if using.
- Whisk until the mixture is smooth.
How to Use
- Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat dry.
- Apply a thin layer, avoiding your eyes and lips.
- Leave it on for 10–15 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
- Apply your usual moisturizer.
Use it once a week at most if your skin tolerates it.
🌟 For a More Noticeable Glow
For everyday skin brightness, a better routine is:
Morning:
Gentle cleanser → moisturizer → broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen
Night:
Gentle cleanser → moisturizer
Sunscreen is particularly important because UV exposure can cause tanning, dark spots, and premature skin aging.
⚠️ Important Precautions
- Do a patch test before applying it to your face.
- Don’t use raw egg on irritated, broken, or acne-inflamed skin.
- Stop immediately if you experience burning, itching, or redness.
- Baby oil is mainly a mineral-oil-based moisturizer/occlusive; it isn’t a skin-brightening treatment.
- Avoid getting the mixture near your eyes.
Tip: If you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, I’d skip the raw egg and simply use a gentle moisturizer instead.
