Mega Turkey Bacon & Cheese Croissant Sandwich
This Mega Turkey Bacon & Cheese Croissant Sandwich is loaded with smoky bacon, tender turkey, melted cheese, crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, and a creamy spread, all tucked inside a buttery, flaky croissant. It’s perfect for a hearty breakfast, lunch, brunch, or an easy meal on the go.
Ingredients
- 4 large croissants
- 12 oz (340 g) sliced turkey breast
- 8 slices bacon, cooked until crisp
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 slices Swiss or provolone cheese
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 4 leaves lettuce
- ¼ small red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon softened butter
Directions
1. Make the Spread
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, and black pepper.
Stir until smooth.
2. Prepare the Croissants
Carefully slice each croissant horizontally without cutting completely through.
Spread a thin layer of softened butter over the cut sides.
For a warm sandwich, place the croissants cut-side up on a baking sheet and toast at 350°F (175°C) for about 3–5 minutes.
3. Layer the Sandwiches
Spread the prepared sauce over the inside of each croissant.
Layer generously with turkey slices.
Add cheddar and Swiss or provolone cheese.
Top with crispy bacon, tomato slices, red onion, and lettuce.
4. Melt the Cheese
If you prefer the cheese melted, leave out the lettuce and tomato initially.
Place the assembled turkey, bacon, and cheese portion in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5–7 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
Add the lettuce and tomato afterward.
5. Serve
Close each croissant gently and slice in half if desired.
Serve immediately with potato chips, a fresh salad, fruit, or soup.
Recipe Tips
- Use a large, fresh bakery-style croissant for the best texture.
- Crispy bacon provides a delicious contrast to the soft croissant.
- Try smoked turkey for an extra savory flavor.
- Add avocado, pickles, cucumber, or roasted red peppers for more texture.
- For a spicy version, mix hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne into the spread.
- Don’t overfill the croissant with wet ingredients, as excess moisture can make it soggy.
- If preparing ahead, keep the lettuce and tomato separate until serving.
