Creamy Strawberry Water is a refreshing Mexican-inspired drink made with fresh strawberries, milk, and a touch of sweetness. It’s smooth, fruity, and wonderfully creamy while still being light enough to enjoy on a warm afternoon.
This easy drink comes together in just a few minutes and is perfect for family gatherings, summer parties, cookouts, or whenever you want something sweet and refreshing.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled
- 4 cups cold water
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup evaporated milk
- ⅓–½ cup granulated sugar, adjusted to taste
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup heavy cream, optional for extra richness
- Ice, for serving
- Fresh strawberry slices, for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Strawberries
Wash the strawberries thoroughly, remove the stems, and cut them into smaller pieces.
Reserve a few strawberries for garnish if desired.
2. Blend
Add the strawberries, 2 cups of the cold water, sugar, and vanilla extract to a blender.
Blend until completely smooth.
For a smoother drink, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the strawberry seeds.
3. Add the Creamy Ingredients
Pour the strawberry mixture into a large pitcher.
Add the remaining 2 cups of water, whole milk, and evaporated milk.
If using heavy cream, add it now.
Stir thoroughly until everything is well combined.
4. Taste and Adjust
Taste the drink and add more sugar if needed.
If you prefer a lighter consistency, add a little more cold water. For a richer and creamier drink, add a splash more milk or cream.
5. Chill and Serve
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes so the flavors can blend and the drink becomes thoroughly chilled.
Serve over plenty of ice and garnish with fresh strawberry slices.
Stir the pitcher before serving, as the creamy ingredients may settle slightly.
Tips for the Best Strawberry Water
Use ripe strawberries: Sweet, ripe berries provide the best natural flavor and color.
Serve very cold: This drink tastes especially refreshing when thoroughly chilled.
Adjust the sweetness: The amount of sugar needed depends on how naturally sweet your strawberries are.
Don’t add too much cream: A little goes a long way and keeps the drink refreshing rather than overly heavy.
Blend and strain: Straining is optional, but it creates a smoother, more traditional drink-like texture.
Easy Variations
For a coconut version, replace some of the milk with coconut milk.
Add a few fresh mint leaves while blending for a refreshing twist.
For a strawberry-banana version, blend in one ripe banana.
You can also add a small squeeze of fresh lime juice to brighten the strawberry flavor.
Storage
Keep the drink covered and refrigerated. Because it contains fresh fruit and dairy, it’s best enjoyed within 1–2 days.
Stir or shake gently before serving.
This Creamy Strawberry Water is sweet, fruity, smooth, and refreshing—a simple homemade drink that’s perfect for warm days and easy entertaining.
