Banana Pudding Cups
These Banana Pudding Cups are creamy, sweet, and incredibly easy to make. Layers of vanilla pudding, fresh banana slices, and crunchy vanilla wafers come together in individual cups for a delicious no-bake dessert that’s perfect for parties, family gatherings, or an easy sweet treat.
Ingredients
- 1 package (3.4 oz / 96 g) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whipped cream or whipped topping
- 3 ripe but firm bananas, sliced
- 1½ cups vanilla wafer cookies
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, optional
- Extra whipped cream and banana slices for garnish
Directions
1. Make the Pudding
Pour the cold milk into a large bowl.
Add the instant vanilla pudding mix and whisk for about 2 minutes, until smooth and thickened.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
For a slightly sweeter filling, mix in the powdered sugar.
2. Fold in the Whipped Cream
Gently fold the whipped cream or whipped topping into the pudding mixture until light and creamy.
Don’t overmix.
3. Crush Some Wafers
Roughly crush about half of the vanilla wafers.
Keep the remaining cookies whole for layering and decoration.
4. Assemble the Cups
Use 6–8 small dessert cups or glasses.
Add a layer of crushed vanilla wafers to the bottom of each cup.
Top with a layer of sliced bananas.
Spoon the creamy pudding mixture over the bananas.
Repeat the layers until the cups are nearly full.
5. Add the Topping
Finish each cup with a dollop of whipped cream.
Add a banana slice and a whole vanilla wafer on top.
6. Chill
Cover the cups and refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours before serving.
This allows the flavors to combine and gives the pudding a wonderfully creamy texture.
Recipe Tips
- Use bananas that are ripe but still firm so they don’t become mushy too quickly.
- For the freshest appearance, add the final banana slices shortly before serving.
- Don’t assemble the cups too far in advance if you want the wafers to remain crunchy.
- For extra richness, replace ½ cup of the milk with heavy cream.
- Crushed shortbread cookies can be used instead of vanilla wafers.
- Store covered in the refrigerator and enjoy within 2 days for the best quality.
