Fresh Fruit Yogurt Granola Parfait
A Fresh Fruit Yogurt Granola Parfait is a quick, colorful, and refreshing breakfast or snack made with creamy yogurt, crunchy granola, and layers of juicy fresh fruit. It’s naturally sweet, satisfying, and easy to customize with whatever fruit you have on hand.
Ingredients
For the Parfait
- 2 cups plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1 cup granola
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 banana, sliced
- ½ cup raspberries
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
Optional Toppings
- Chopped almonds or walnuts
- Shredded coconut
- Chia seeds
- Flaxseeds
- Pumpkin seeds
- Fresh mint
- A drizzle of peanut or almond butter
Directions
1. Prepare the yogurt
Place the yogurt in a bowl.
If using plain Greek yogurt, stir in the vanilla extract and 1–2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup, depending on how sweet you like it.
Mix until smooth and creamy.
For a thicker, richer parfait, Greek yogurt works especially well because it holds the layers without becoming watery.
2. Prepare the fruit
Wash all the fresh fruit thoroughly and pat it dry.
Slice the strawberries and banana.
Leave the blueberries and raspberries whole.
If using larger fruits such as peaches, mangoes, apples, or kiwi, cut them into small bite-sized pieces.
3. Choose your glasses
Use clear glasses, dessert cups, mason jars, or small bowls.
Clear glasses are especially nice because you can see all the colorful layers.
4. Add the first layer
Spoon approximately ¼ cup of yogurt into the bottom of each glass.
Spread it gently so it forms an even layer.
5. Add the fruit
Add a layer of mixed strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and banana.
Try to distribute the fruit evenly so you get a little of everything in every bite.
6. Add the granola
Sprinkle approximately 2–3 tablespoons of granola over the fruit.
For the best crunch, don’t add all the granola at once.
7. Repeat the layers
Continue layering:
Yogurt → Fruit → Granola → Yogurt → Fruit → Granola
Repeat until the glasses are almost full.
Finish with a layer of yogurt and a colorful arrangement of fresh fruit on top.
8. Add the finishing touches
Drizzle a little honey or maple syrup over the top.
Add chopped nuts, chia seeds, coconut, or a few extra pieces of granola for texture.
A small mint leaf on top makes the parfait look especially beautiful when serving guests.
Tips for the Best Parfait
Keep the granola crunchy
If you’re preparing the parfait ahead of time, keep the granola separate and add it just before serving. Yogurt and fruit can soften granola if it sits too long.
Use thick yogurt
Greek yogurt gives the parfait a creamy texture and helps create attractive layers.
Choose colorful fruit
Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, mango, kiwi, and peaches make beautiful combinations.
Don’t add too much honey
If you’re using vanilla yogurt and sweet fruit, you may not need much additional sweetener.
Make it more filling
For a more substantial breakfast, add chia seeds, nuts, pumpkin seeds, or a spoonful of nut butter.
Make-Ahead Option
You can prepare the yogurt and fruit layers several hours ahead and keep them refrigerated.
For the best texture, add the granola immediately before serving.
If you’re making parfaits for meal prep, use jars with lids and keep the granola in a separate small container until you’re ready to eat.
