Air Fryer Breaded Chicken Wings
Crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, these air fryer breaded chicken wings are easy to make without deep frying. They’re perfect for a quick dinner, game day, or a delicious snack.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup breadcrumbs or panko
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- Cooking spray or a little oil
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Pat the wings completely dry with paper towels. This helps them become extra crispy.
- Make the coating: In a bowl, combine flour, breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and oregano.
- Prepare the egg wash: Whisk the eggs and milk together in a separate bowl.
- Bread the wings: Dip each wing into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with the seasoned flour mixture. Press the coating gently onto the chicken.
- Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 3–5 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air-fryer basket with oil. Arrange the wings in a single layer, leaving space between them. Lightly spray the tops with cooking oil.
- Air fry for 20–25 minutes, turning the wings halfway through. Spray lightly with oil again after turning if they look dry.
- Continue cooking until the coating is deeply golden and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
- Serve immediately with ranch, garlic sauce, hot sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.
🔥 Extra-Crispy Tip
For an even crunchier coating, use panko breadcrumbs and avoid overcrowding the air fryer. If you’re cooking a large batch, cook in multiple rounds rather than stacking the wings.
