Crockpot Ranch Pork Chops and Potatoes
Tender, juicy pork chops and creamy potatoes slowly cooked in a rich ranch-seasoned sauce. This is an easy one-pot comfort meal that requires very little preparation.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless or bone-in pork chops
- 1½ lb (680 g) baby potatoes, halved
- 1 packet (1 oz / 28 g) ranch seasoning mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz / 298 g) cream of chicken soup
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup sour cream
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt, to taste
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese, optional
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the potatoes
Wash the potatoes thoroughly and cut larger ones in half.
For very small baby potatoes, you can leave them whole.
Place them in the bottom of your slow cooker.
2. Season the pork chops
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.
Season both sides with:
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Black pepper
- Paprika
- A small amount of salt
Be careful with the salt because ranch seasoning already contains salt.
3. Make the ranch sauce
In a bowl, combine:
- Cream of chicken soup
- Chicken broth
- Ranch seasoning
- Sour cream
Whisk until smooth and creamy.
4. Assemble the crockpot
Place the seasoned pork chops over the potatoes.
Pour the ranch sauce evenly over the pork chops and potatoes.
Add small pieces of butter over the top.
Cover with the lid.
5. Slow Cook
Cook on:
LOW: 5–6 hours
HIGH: 2½–3½ hours
Cooking time depends on the thickness of the pork chops and your slow cooker.
The pork should reach a safe internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), followed by a brief rest.
Avoid overcooking the pork, especially if using thin chops, because they can become dry.
6. Add Cheese
If using cheddar cheese, sprinkle it over the pork chops and potatoes during the final 10–15 minutes.
Cover again and let the cheese melt.
7. Serve
Carefully lift the pork chops from the crockpot and spoon the creamy ranch potatoes onto plates.
Top with the sauce and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
⭐ Tips for the Best Crockpot Pork Chops
- Bone-in pork chops generally stay juicier than very thin boneless chops.
- Don’t overcrowd the slow cooker.
- For extra flavor, quickly sear the pork chops in a hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side before adding them to the crockpot.
- Use baby Yukon Gold or red potatoes because they hold their shape well.
- For a richer sauce, replace some of the chicken broth with heavy cream.
- Add sliced mushrooms, carrots, or green beans for extra vegetables.
- For a spicy version, add ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes.
