Cinnamon & Aloe Vera Wellness Drink
A refreshing homemade drink combining aloe vera gel, cinnamon, lemon, and water. It can be a pleasant low-calorie beverage, but it should not be considered a proven detox, weight-loss, or disease-treatment drink.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon food-grade inner aloe vera gel
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup (250 ml) warm or room-temperature water
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, optional
- ½ teaspoon honey, optional
How to Make It
- Add the water to a glass.
- Mix in the cinnamon and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Add 1 tablespoon of properly prepared food-grade aloe vera gel.
- Add lemon juice and honey if desired.
- Stir or blend until well combined.
- Drink immediately.
⚠️ Important Aloe Vera Safety
Use only commercially prepared food-grade aloe vera gel intended for oral consumption. Avoid drinking aloe latex or the yellow sap found just beneath the leaf skin; aloe latex contains compounds that can cause diarrhea, abdominal cramps and electrolyte problems.
Don’t assume that more aloe is better. Regular oral aloe use can interact with some medicines and may be inappropriate during pregnancy or for people with certain medical conditions.
What About Cinnamon?
Cinnamon is fine as a culinary spice, but this drink shouldn’t be promoted as a treatment for diabetes, weight loss, inflammation, or other diseases. If you drink it regularly, ¼ teaspoon is plenty.
Simple wellness version: water + ¼ teaspoon cinnamon + 1 tablespoon food-grade aloe vera gel + a little lemon.
