Air Fryer Caramel Apple Wontons are a delicious bite-sized dessert filled with tender cinnamon apples and gooey caramel, wrapped in crispy wonton wrappers. They cook quickly in the air fryer and make a fun alternative to traditional apple pie.
Ingredients
- 12 wonton wrappers
- 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and finely diced
- 2 tablespoons caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Cooking spray
- Powdered sugar, for serving, optional
Instructions
1. Prepare the Apple Filling
Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the diced apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
Cook for about 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples soften slightly but still hold their shape.
Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes. Stir in the caramel sauce.
2. Fill the Wontons
Place one wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the apple filling into the center.
Lightly moisten the edges with water. Fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle and press the edges firmly to seal.
Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
3. Air Fry
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket and arrange the wontons in a single layer, leaving space between them
