Ingredients
For the Rollups
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tube refrigerated pizza dough or crescent roll dough
For the Garlic Butter
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Cook the Beef
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks.
Drain any excess grease.
Add the minced garlic, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika. Stir well and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
2. Prepare the Dough
Roll the pizza or crescent dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
Spread the beef mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef.
3. Roll and Slice
Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log.
Pinch the seam gently to seal it.
Using a sharp knife, cut the log into approximately 10–12 equal pieces.
Arrange the rollups cut-side up in a lightly greased baking dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
4. Make the Garlic Butter
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and salt.
Brush the garlic butter generously over the tops of the rollups.
5. Bake
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the dough is puffed and golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Brush with a little more garlic butter immediately after removing them from the oven.
6. Serve
Let the rollups cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
Serve with ketchup, mustard, burger sauce, ranch dressing, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Tips for the Best Rollups
- Drain the beef well so the rollups don’t become greasy or soggy.
- Let the cooked beef cool slightly before adding it to the dough.
- Don’t overfill the dough, or it may be difficult to roll and seal.
- Sharp cheddar gives the strongest cheeseburger flavor, but mozzarella or Monterey Jack also works beautifully.
- For extra flavor, add diced pickles or a little crumbled cooked bacon to the filling.
Storage
Store leftover rollups in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
Reheat them in a 350°F (175°C) oven or air fryer until warmed through and crisp again.
