Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes
These Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes are crispy on the edges, golden on the outside, and tender in the center. With simple seasonings, garlic, and a touch of Parmesan, they’re an easy side dish or snack that comes together quickly with minimal oil.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb (680 g) potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Optional: ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Directions
1. Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly.
Slice them into approximately ¼-inch (6 mm) rounds, keeping the slices as evenly sized as possible.
For extra crispiness, soak the slices in cold water for 15–20 minutes.
Drain and pat them very dry with paper towels.
2. Season the Potatoes
Place the potato slices in a large bowl.
Add olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
Toss until every slice is evenly coated.
3. Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes, if your model recommends preheating.
4. Air Fry
Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through.
Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
5. Add the Parmesan
During the final 2–3 minutes, sprinkle the Parmesan over the potatoes.
Continue cooking until the cheese is melted and the potato edges are golden and crisp.
6. Garnish and Serve
Transfer the potatoes to a serving plate.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
Serve immediately with ranch dressing, garlic aioli, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Recipe Tips
- Slice the potatoes evenly so they cook at the same rate.
- Pat the potatoes completely dry after soaking; excess moisture prevents crisping.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches for the crispiest results.
- Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes work particularly well.
- For extra crunch, lightly spray the slices with additional oil before cooking.
- Try adding Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, or grated cheddar for a different flavor.
- Cooking times can vary between air fryer models, so check the potatoes toward the end.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) until hot and crisp.
