Cheesy Garden Herb Roll-Ups
These Cheesy Garden Herb Roll-Ups are warm, buttery, cheesy, and packed with fresh herbs. Soft tortillas are filled with a creamy cheese mixture, rolled tightly, and baked until golden and bubbly. They’re perfect as an easy appetizer, snack, or light lunch.
Ingredients
- 6 medium flour tortillas
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
Directions
1. Prepare the Cheese Filling
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mozzarella, cheddar, Parmesan, garlic, parsley, basil, chives, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper.
Add red pepper flakes if desired.
Mix until smooth and evenly combined.
2. Fill the Tortillas
Lay the tortillas flat on a clean surface.
Spread a generous layer of the cheese and herb mixture evenly over each tortilla, leaving about ½ inch around the edges.
3. Roll Them Up
Starting from one edge, roll each tortilla tightly into a log.
Place the rolls seam-side down.
For easier slicing, refrigerate the rolls for 15–20 minutes before cutting.
4. Slice
Cut each roll into approximately 1½-inch pieces.
Arrange the pieces cut-side up in a lightly greased baking dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
5. Add Butter
Brush the tops lightly with melted butter.
Sprinkle with a little extra Parmesan and chopped herbs if desired.
6. Bake
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the edges are lightly golden.
For extra browning, broil for 1–2 minutes, watching carefully.
7. Serve
Let the roll-ups cool for a few minutes.
Garnish with fresh parsley or chives and serve warm.
They pair wonderfully with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or garlic butter for dipping.
Recipe Tips
- Use room-temperature cream cheese so the filling spreads easily.
- Don’t overfill the tortillas or the cheese mixture may squeeze out while rolling.
- Fresh herbs provide the brightest flavor, but dried herbs can be substituted if needed.
- Add finely chopped spinach, roasted red peppers, or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
- For a spicy version, add diced jalapeños or extra red pepper flakes.
- Use whole-wheat tortillas for a heartier variation.
- Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven or air fryer.
