Crockpot Frozen Biscuit Dough Casserole
This Crockpot Frozen Biscuit Dough Casserole is an easy, cozy slow-cooker treat made with frozen biscuit dough, creamy ingredients, cinnamon, and brown sugar. It’s a simple dessert or breakfast bake that requires very little preparation.
Ingredients
- 1 package (16 oz) frozen raw biscuit dough
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup chopped pecans, optional
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Directions
1. Prepare the Crockpot
Lightly grease the inside of a 6-quart slow cooker with butter or nonstick cooking spray.
2. Prepare the Biscuit Dough
Cut the frozen biscuit dough into quarters or bite-sized pieces.
Arrange the pieces evenly in the bottom of the slow cooker.
3. Add the Cinnamon Mixture
In a bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
Pour the mixture evenly over the biscuit dough.
Sprinkle with chopped pecans if using.
4. Slow Cook
Place a clean kitchen towel over the top of the slow cooker, then secure the lid.
The towel helps absorb condensation so excess moisture doesn’t drip onto the biscuits.
Cook on HIGH for approximately 2–3 hours, or until the biscuit pieces are cooked through and the center reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
Cooking time can vary depending on the size and type of frozen biscuit dough.
5. Make the Glaze
Whisk the powdered sugar and milk together in a small bowl until smooth.
Add a few drops of milk if you need a thinner glaze.
6. Finish and Serve
Once the biscuit pieces are fully cooked, drizzle the glaze over the warm biscuits.
Serve immediately while soft and warm.
Recipe Tips
- Keep the biscuit dough frozen until you’re ready to prepare the recipe.
- Cut the dough into similar-sized pieces so they cook evenly.
- Avoid opening the slow cooker repeatedly because it releases heat and can increase cooking time.
- Check the center carefully before serving to make sure the dough is fully cooked.
- Add raisins, chopped apples, or walnuts for extra flavor.
- For a richer dessert, serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
- Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days.
